CAPTAIN’S DAY 27. 07.09   

Senior’s Captain Peter Nightingale was, as is the custom, first to tee off at 9.am followed  by his team members and Captain’s Day 2009 was underway. The rest of the field 11 teams of 4 players followed on throughout the day in pursuit of the various trophies and prizes.Although not a great summer’s day it was pleasant enough for a game of golf and the course was in great condition. Everyone enjoyed the occasion and a fine buffet meal awaited all in the club house at the end of the round. It was approaching 5 pm before all the cards and course markers were in and the results could be announced. As usual there were many winners of the donated prizes and then the  Captain presented  the individual and team trophies.As a result of the day’s proceedings £366.74 was raised for the Senior’s Captain’s Charity KEETCH COTTAGE CHILDREN’S HOSPICE.Congratulations to all who participated, and a massive vote of thanks to the many volunteers who assisted throughout the day to make the event such a great success.
