   2012 CAPTAIN -BRENDAN LANGAN

  CLUB CAPTAIN
BRENDAN LANGAN

Following on from a very successful 2011, with membershp growing and the course continually improving, I am very pleased and honoured to take over the role of Club Captain for 2012/13.

It is my intention through my year as Captain to play with as many members as possible and I have given the Golf Secretary (Dave Lea) the onerous task of organising this by always playing me with different players in Medals and Stableford competitions as well as main competition days.

We are all lucky to play at such a friendly club and I will do my best to ensure this continues.

Competition dates for 2012 have been finalised and these can be found in the new handbook.

The club charities for the year 2012/13 will be Cystic Fibrosis and a small local charity called Social Link. I trust everyone will be generous in supporting these two charities as they have been with other charities in previous years.

It Finally remains for me to wish you all a successful and, most importantly, enjoyable year of golf at Aylesbury Vale.

 Men’s Section

A full calendar exists for the men’s section. The varied range of golfing competition and formats can be found at the back of this handbook. We have the usual medals and stablefords and plenty of pairs and individual competitions for you to enter. Keep an eye on the notice board in the locker room for sign up sheets.

It doesn’t matter what your ability is, don’t be put off by the thought of being paired with superior golfers, we all have horror stories of missing fairways and putts, or even the course completely!   So join in and feel part of the friendliest club for miles and after the golf, join us in the bar for a drink and chat.

The club matches are enjoyable social occasions. Teams are not selected on ability. The prerequisite of selection is an ability to laugh and stand your round at the bar. If you are un-successful once, try again; we do try to include as many players as possible throughout the season.
